Today Mom, Dad and I went to Warm Springs, GA where President Franklin Roosevelt had a house. He went there to spend time in the warm springs hopeful that it could cure his polio. They did not cure him but they made him feel better and he loved spending time in the South. He bought a large piece of land, built a house he called "the little white house," and opened a facility to treat polio victims. We went to "the little white house" and I got to put my hands in the warm springs! FDR was in the house, having his portrait painted, when he died. The picture of me and my dad is in front of the "unfinished portrait." The town had a cute main street where we stopped to get ice cream. My dad snuck me licks when my mom wasn't looking. She didn't think it was a good idea to give an 8 month old chocolate peanut butter ice cream! I loved it!
