Two weeks before school started I sent the girls to "camp" at a nearby church so Jack and I could spend some quality time together. The first day we went bowling with his buddy Zachary. It was Jack's first time bowling and he loved it! It was so much fun to see him and Zachary play and bowl together! I see a lot of bowling in our future!
The next day we headed out to the National Whitewater Center which is just up the road from us. Clay had been with some guys before and had a great time. I knew Jack would enjoy the large climbing wall but didn't know if he was big/old enough to do anything else. We were pleasantly surprised!
Jack LOVED the rock wall and climber much higher that I did!
After the wall, we got paddles and headed to the kayaks on the Catawba river. It was a gorgeous day and I paddled us around while Jack instructed me on where to go!
Next, we headed up to the rope courses. Jack just made the 45lb cut off and he was so excited to try all the courses including the zip lines. I am TERRIFIED of heights and it was true love as I climbed up the ropes and followed Jack out into the trees. I was so proud of him- he had no fear and loved it all!

When we got down from the zip line I asked the guy what time it was- he told me 2:45. I had a sitter for girls (after camp) and she had to leave at 3! I couldn't believe we had been out that long but I looked at Jack and told him we had to run! We got to the locker rooms and I looked at my phone and it was only 12:45!! So relieved and so excited that we could enjoy lunch next to the whitewater course and then back to the ropes courses where Jack would try them all!
I loved being able to spend such great quality time with Jack. I was so proud of him for wanting to try everything he could and for encouraging me and others who were a little scared. We can't wait to go back again!
