Wild Dunes 2012

Mom and Dad spent the month of October at Wild Dunes in Charleston. They let us disturb their peace and quiet for a bit and we had a fabulous time!

Looking for alligators! We saw a big one and a baby one!
First steps on the beach this year and Virginia Ann was not pleased. It wasn't until the third day that she would walk on the sand!

 Crazy girl!

She goes hard and then crashes!
May never get a pic of them all looking but love them just the same!

 We call this sand surfing.
And of course, VA had to follow suit.
We got to see my friend Clarice and her cute kiddies. Madeline loved playing with Coleman!
And Sloane was so nice to VA.
We met up with Meg for dinner. Lots of high school memories with these girls!
Jack LOVED boogie boarding and was very good at it. No fear.

Pumpkin Patch

We took the kids to a local farm to pick pumpkins and take a hayride. It was a fun Saturday in the Fall type of thing to do!

Apple picking

My friend Megan and I piled our 5 kids under 6 in her van and drove an hour and a half to Flat Rock, NC. It was a great drive, with the leaves starting to change colors in the mountains. The kids were very excited about picking apples!
Madeline was insistent on carrying her own basket.
Jack played hooky from school. It's just kindergarten, right?
There were signs everywhere that said "Don't eat the apples until you pay for them." Apparently they are for the over 6 crowd. Grace and Virginia Ann weren't obeying.

Apple picking wears a girl out.
VA loved hiding in the apple trees.
Two fisting it. Breaking the rules, double. It's how she rolls.
Loved spending the day with these cuties! And we got lots of apples, apple cider doughnuts and apple cider to bring home. I made an apple pie last night and it was delish! Love this time of year!

School and such

Virginia Ann LOVES school. Every morning she asks to put her backpack on and when Madeline goes to school and she does not, she is very upset. She will say "I play with Grace. I play with Emma." Yes, she is 22 months and already has her little group of girlfriends. So cute. Some mornings I have to wake her up to go so she gets breakfast on the go!
Madeline also loves school and I love it because it wears her out!
 Sweet kids one Sunday
We took a day trip down to Greenville to see my college roomie, Ginger and her family. We had a great time playing along the Reedy River. Such a fun town!

Happy Birthday to Mom!

I turned 36 last month. Gosh it sounds old but it was a great weekend! The kids and Clay got up early to make me breakfast in bed. They love to make pancakes and decorate them. Madeline put eggs and bacon as my hair b/c my hair is "brown and yellow." So true, so true. They were so excited to bring me breakfast and my presents which they had shopped for with Clay's help. Love our little family!
That weekend we got to go out on the town in Charlotte with our friends Megan and Jonathan. We went to Cantina 1511 and then over to Hickory Tavern to watch some football. It was a great night!

Soccer Fall 2012

We started soccer season in September. Madeline is playing on the Sasquatches (yes, you read right) and Jack's team is the Aliens.
Madeline just seems to be in it for the post-game snack. She is not very aggressive on the field which is the complete opposite of her personality but she has fun so that's all that matters, right?
The littlest fan
Jack LOVES playing soccer! He really seems to get it this year and it is fun to watch him!

Madeline and her school buddy Jackson.
Jackson's little sister, Grace and Virginia Ann are buddies. They are also just interested in who has the snacks.
